I booked a reservation here for my hubby's birthday and it was spectacular! Taking the tramway was the only scary part (for me personally), but it was a quick 10 minutes up the mountain. Once we reached the top, we took several pictures and noticed that they had a gift shop. We were seated right away, and had a great view. We both ate to our heart's delight and shared a dessert. The staff was so sweet and wrote "Happy Birthday" on the plate. The ambiance felt very royal and elegant. It was everything I had hoped for and more! Highly recommend!
We went to Peaks during restaurant week while visiting Palm Springs and my anticipations were exceeded. The food was so good even while being from the pre fixe menu. The view was also beautiful and the service was fantastic! Highly recommend.
My boyfriend and I planned to go to Palm Springs for my birthday. I mentioned each time we went to Palm Spring that I wanted to go on the tram. He surprised me with reservations at this beautiful restaurant at the top called Peaks. Our reservation was at 7pm and we arrived at 4:15. We roamed around for a bit and kept ourselves busy until then. We were seated and had a beautiful view of Palm Springs which was breathtaking. We all had water to drink since we were higher up than normal. My boyfriend got a Diet Pepsi because he was a little tired but it did the trick. We were all starving so we were looking forward to this meal. My boyfriend and I both got the filet mignon with mash potatoes and carrots. My two friends split the lamb which the kitchen put on two different plates for them. The food was SO good and we cleaned our plates. My friends were still hungry so they split the meatloaf which also looked very good. Since it was my actual birthday, the restaurant treated me to a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream which I shared with the table. It tasted so good and it was such a beautiful experience!
Peak of the menu This is the fancy restaurant at the top of the mountain. If you have taken the tram to the top of the San Jacinto Mountain, you have several places to pick from if you're hungry. All are good, but this happens to be the fancy choice of them all. Here you will find food items more familiar on a higher end restaurant menu, such as steak, fish, Oso bucco, meatloaf, etc., along with a wine and cocktail list. You don't have to dress up for this restaurant as you will be out exploring and possibly hiking the mountain, but at least you can eat like a king or queen.
We were about 45 minutes early for our reservation, but we took a chance that they would seat us early, which the happily did. To be honest, I thought this was just a tourist spot on the top of the aerial transfer and didn't expect much as far as food quality. We were pleasantly surprised! My shrimp was so tasty and they were HUGE! The burger was 1//2 pound deliciousness with bacon and avocado. Even the fries were yummy.
Food was meh, acceptable but nothing great... but the price was alright so I'll give it a pass; you're not here for food anyway. Love the view though. We came here on a rainy/snowy day, so we were able to watch the clouds come and go, snow rainbow rain sun... we saw all of them. We enjoyed the experience. Our waiter was also extremely nice and attentive. Food: 3 stars Service: 5 stars View: 5 stars
Once you've worked up an appetite by breathing in the fresh mountain air at 8,500 feet, you'll be ravenous. Peaks Restaurant is at the top of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. This is a small, narrow multi-level restaurant with beautiful views of the Coachella Valley. The Peaks is the fine dining option, and Pines Cafe, is a cafeteria-style restaurant. We didn't have a reservation, but quickly made a lunch reservation by phone once we reached the top of Mt. Jacinto. The restaurant advises to leave additional time to ascend the tramway. Purchase your tickets in advance. The ride to the top only takes about 10 minutes, but can be quite crowded. We sat on the upper level and had a great view out of the windows. The restaurant was about half full for lunch. The size of our burgers was towering, just like the peaks themselves. I tried the Pepper Pork burger, a 1/2 lb. burger with pepper jack cheese, shredded pork rib, onions, and bacon. The bacon could have been crisper and the burger was ok. My companion tried the Bacon Blue cheese burger, with a 1/2 lb burger, blue cheese, avocado spread, and bacon. We both agreed that the enormous buns were too much. However, the seasoned sidewinder fries were crispy and we couldn't stop eating them. The service was friendly and efficient, and the food was ok, and the experience was Elevated by the amazing scenery. The Pines is definitely the more family-friendly (and wallet-friendly) option so maybe save this for a special occasion.
Great view and great service! We had the ribeye and salmon - both were excellent. The clam chowder was also delicious, my kid loved it! I had the spinach salad with chicken and it was just so-so. It was a pleasant atmosphere, stunning view at sunset, for a birthday dinner for my mother in law. We had fun, although it was a little pricey!
One of thee BEST dining experiences I've ever had! 1st time there there was a 3 hour wait for the tram so we came back early the next morning to catch them at the 11a opening. The ride up was over 8,500 ft to reach the restaurant perched atop a mountain. The views were absolutely beautiful, stunning, and breathtaking! We had a very short wait for the restaurant to open but we were seated immediately once they were. Our party of 5 ordered the spinach artichoke dip-sooo delicious Flat iron steak tasty but a lil chewy, fries were good Bbq pulled pork sandwich was good Bacon blue cheeseburger was delish Chicken wrap was good Pasta was delish Caramel cheesecake was good Crème brûlée was delish Some enjoyed the Berry's jubilee, some didn't Everyone who had the whiskey apple pie cocktail raved about it Our server Joel was great! If I'm ever back in Palm Springs will definitely revisit! Food 8/10, service 10/10, ambiance 10/10
